Friends of Astrolabe Park Inc is a community organisation in Sydney's East dedicated to preserving and improving this precious and important open green space for the enjoyment of everyone of all ages and abilities.
Astrolabe Park is the environmental and recreational link between the heritage Botany Wetlands and the historic low-rise and accessible suburb of Daceyville.
Parks and open green spaces are for everyone and their voices should be heard.
We aim to improve Astrolabe Park as a Council-managed shared community open space for informal recreation.
Bayside council has published the 2026 Masterplan for Astrolabe Park, and is requesting feedback until 31 August 2026.

Friends of Astrolabe Park believe in the transformative power of open green spaces and parks
We believe in a community-based approach to managing community open spaces that support healthy people, connected neighbourhoods and a healthy environment.
We believe it’s the people who live here and those who enjoy the park who hold the place-based wisdom around what Astrolabe Park means to the community.
We believe in engaging with the community to tap into this experience and knowledge of the place.
We aim to assist Bayside Council with creating a Master Plan for the Park that captures the community’s needs and wish list for improvements.
Friends of Astrolabe Park acknowledge the Bidjigal and Gadigal Peoples of the Eora Nation as the traditional custodians of the land on which we live, work and play. We offer our respects to the Elders past, present and emerging.
